- Process weekly payrolls in both ERP and Payroll systems, validating payroll data and reviewing payroll reports.
- Accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions within the ERP and HRIS systems including new hires, terminations, and other pay and job changes.
- Prepares and manages monthly Union reporting (if applicable to the Business Unit).
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices as well as adherence to organizational policies and collective bargaining agreements.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifies and troubleshoots payroll discrepancies.
- Proactively address employee payroll matters to maintain employee satisfaction.
- Create and maintain payroll processes and procedures.
- Manage the process of setting up various federal, state, and local tax accounts working with the payroll provider and the various governmental agencies.
- Work with payroll provider on tax notifications to resolve any discrepancies.
- Generate reports out of ERP and HRIS systems.
- Serves as back up for multi-company payrolls.
- Responsible for quarter and year end reconciliation including W-2 review.
- Other projects as assigned.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes and laws
- Experience with Union and construction payroll a plus
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Prioritization of data protection and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter and able to work independently
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficient with payroll software - Paylocity a plus
- Experience with ERP system- Spectrum a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience required
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
