    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Production Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of production in the facility.

    The Production Manager communicates performance expectations to supervisors, monitors production demands, mentors and develops production supervisors, and manages facility efficiency and profitability in coordination with the Materials & Plant Manager.


    RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
    Lead daily production meeting (DOR) and create accountability to actions identified from misses in the daily KPIs
    Manage production supervisors to include performance reviews and disciplinary actions
    Manage the shift-to shift handoffs with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost
    Executes against schedule created by the materials manager and make recommendations for improvements to create efficiency, reduce costs, eliminate issues, and achieve resolution
    Monitor production activities to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedule
    Work with supervisors to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses
    Manage and maintain efficient staffing plan according to production schedule
    Manage utilization of temp and other contract employees associated with production with the support of HR
    Oversee production reporting in IQMS and ensure timely and accurate reporting
    Maintains a safety culture and cultivates safe behavior through development and monitoring of safety standards.
    Ensure up to date specifications and standard line conditions are provided for each work order.
    Works in the best interest of the business by making decisions that reflect the company's core values.

    Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

    Familiarity with line setups
    Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with all plant functional areas

    Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, and or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge and or skills.

    Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors and or other problems or defects
    Manage workforce planning, including fulfillment of work schedules and adherence to attendance policies (vacations, floating days, call ins, etc.)
    Provide recommendations on disciplinary action and recommend potential improvements, as necessary

    Experience and Competencies:
    4 year degree in applicable field
    Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain
    Excellent communication and listening skills
    Proven track record of effective problem-solving
    Ability to embrace continuous improvement
    Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions
    Ability to coach and train employees
    Ability to be an on-shift resource for troubleshooting problems in the process as well as maintenance issues
    Ability to make independent, effective decisions
    Possess ability to be a self-directed team player
    Flexibility to work multiple shifts
    Bilingual Spanish and English required
