PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Machinist in Orlando, FL.

Job Responsibilities:

The Technician-level position as a machinist in the Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop operates a wide range of machine tools in the precision fabrication from aerospace-grade metals of prototype/development parts and assemblies, in support of internal customers for research and development projects and contracted programs.
The manually or numerically controlled equipment used will require competency in lathe, mill, press, shear, band saw, and grinder operations.
Requested tasks are verified and evaluated with the manager and test requester and scheduled in an environment where there are often competing and conflicting needs that need to be resolved.
Job status is reported and reviewed as required by the manager.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

Some experience with technical fabrication in a prototype/development environment with experience in metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and composite fabrication while working in a team environment.
Demonstrated competence in the fabrication of basic steel and aluminum alloys using a knee mill, band saw, manual lathe, and basic hand-powered metal cutting.
Must be able to work a flex schedule, overtime, evenings, weekends, etc., and the position will require the candidate to work onsite daily.
Capable of deconflicting scheduling conflicts with customers and possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects as needed.
Proficient in computing within a Windows-based MS Office-suite-centered environment for communication, scheduling, data processing, and basic data transfer.
Demonstrated sound writing and verbal communication skills.
High School diploma or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical tasks and 4 years or more of experience.
Able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Not required to start.

Desired Qualifications:

4 years of technical fabrication experience in a prototype/development environment with experience in metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and composites fabrication while working in a team environment.
Knowledge of CNC machines and software, CATIA, Creo, Pro E, and G-code programming.
GD&T, Mil-Spec Standards,
Advanced working knowledge of various metals, layout, cutting, bending, and forming.
Working knowledge from concept design into product development.
Ability to communicate through development, perform guidance of working projects, and task individuals.
Current DoD Secret clearance is highly preferred; however, it is not required.
