- Work safely, follow all safety practices
- Operate, change over and adjust and perform a broad range of operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, facing, turning and chamfering on materials to close tolerances using lathes and/or automatic CNC machinery.
- Program CNC machinery for materials and operation.
- Plan exacting and fairly difficult set ups and perform a broad range of operations, utilizing lathes and mutli-cut tooling on a wide variety of large, complicated and expensive castings, forgings and stock of parts to close tolerances and relationships to stepped diameters, shoulders, recesses and formed sections for custom or standardized products.
- Select tools, speeds, feeds and devise tooling for varying materials and conditions.
- Replace or sharpen dull tools.
- Promptness, follow work schedule
- Cleanup of work area and shop as needed or directed
- Reports to Production Supervisor(s)
- Maintains internal relationships with fellow employees
- Maintains external relationships with:
- Customers and their specific needs
- Supplier representatives
- WestRock personnel
