    We are currently seeking a
    Warehouse Manager to join our Operations team in Lunenburg.

    Position Summary: Reporting to the GM you will be accountable for the effective supervision of skilled employees and processes related to the dry storage warehouse and cold storage warehouse servicing production.

    The warehouse is a 2 shift operation Monday to Friday and the position primarily works on the day shift with evening shift work as required.

    Lunenburg is the central hub for distribution for Canadian Retail and Atlantic Food Service products and is adjacent to a manufacturing facility.

    Key direct customers include Production, US Operations, Financial Services, Sales & Marketing, Quality, Procurement and Purchasing.


    Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrates the maintaining and use of an effective High Liner Operating System (HOS) while meeting customer requirements.
    • Ensure the daily/ weekly warehouse schedule for areas of responsibility meets customer needs and is cost effective.
    • Responsible to ensure the safe keeping of inventory by establishing & monitoring shop floor processes that minimize damage product, ensures the rotation of inventory is following FIFO and inventory accuracy is maintained.
    • Responsible to schedule employees to carry out counts as planned and or required by inventory controller related to areas of responsibility both cold and dry storage.
    • Responsible to investigate and put corrective actions in place on any issues related to inventory adjustments
    • Responsible for the movement of all materials from both warehouses to & from the production shop floor
    • Responsible to set expectations and maintain processes that meet quality standards.
    • Ensure continuous improvement and development of direct reports through performance management and annual reviews.
    • Ensures reports are communicated to on key initiatives and plant happenings.
    • Ensure that proper CTPAT and food security practices are being followed.
    • Responsible to carry out a monthly safety inspection of the dry storage warehouse with an hourly employee and take corrective action as required
    • Ensure safe working conditions and safe work practices are being followed by employees
    • Ensure HLF policies and procedures are being followed.
    • Support company strategic goals by directing the crew and implementing changes and improvements.
    • Regular review and updating of SOP's and policies.
    Review with back ups to the position and affected employees.

    • To foster a positive working environment ensuring that Policies of the Company and the Company's Code of Conduct are respected in your area and the Companys responsibilities to employees are fulfilled.
    This would include being familiar with and implementing, according to your role within the Company, Company policies as published from time to time. In particular, as a leader with accountability for fostering our vision and values, the incumbent must review and communicate on a regular basis the High Liner Code of Conduct. The incumbent must at all times demonstrate behavior and actions consistent with the Code and ensure that employees in his or her area do the same, and are knowledgeable about the Code and all policies referred to in the Code.


    Qualifications:

    • Post secondary education is an asset.
    -3-5 years of warehouse coaching experience is an asset

    • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills
    • Computer systems: JD Edwards & or Enterprise 1, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite, Reports Now
    • Familiarity with an Advanced Warehouse Management System is an asset
    • Ability to establish & meet productivity targets and report on results
    • Ability to work within a union environment.
    • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
