- Manage maintenance operations ensuring efficient effective utilization of plant equipment & maintenance technicians
- Ensures that the activities of the Maintenance Department adhere to USDA, SQF, and HAACP regulations and plant quality control standards by keeping the Maintenance personnel informed of the proper procedures and monitoring their compliance in order to maximize the Company's ability to provide high quality products.
- Looks for opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, materials utilization, procedures, processes, and eliminates wasteful practices within the department
- Maintain PM and work order system for accuracy, quality, and completeness
- Create, train, delegate, oversee and review work order request for overall operations of plant systems
- Assign scheduled work in priority order from our work order system
- Data entry as needed
- Maintains good employee relations, adheres to contract provisions, and effectively communicates to their team and management. Fosters a positive work relationship with employees
- Train and coach maintenance technicians to achieve company goals
- Evaluate equipment, building and grounds for maintenance needs
- Evaluate preventative maintenance program, modify as needed.
- Develop Lock Out Tag Out Procedures for new equipment and review all procedures annually.
- Approves vacations and arranges staffing to meet maintenance goals
- Manage procurement functions for maintenance department including vendor selection and negotiation
- Manage a complex parts inventory and initiate purchasing of parts for specialized equipment
- In depth Knowledge of all plant equipment and policies
- In depth knowledge of entire plant systems and processes
- Working knowledge of all plant utility parameters
- In depth knowledge of all utility disciplines, such as: electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, boiler systems and Process safety management
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards, DEP and EPA regulations
- Working knowledge of all state and federal regulations in regard to plant operation, building systems, and safety culture
- Basic knowledge of budgeting and financial management

Initiate and maintain Capital projects through participation in the corporate Project Expenditure Request (PER) process. Establish and negotiate vendor selection to secure the most cost-effective approach to maintaining equipment. Ensure effective use of internal and 3rd party resources to minimize downtime and meet regulatory requirements.Direct the activities of maintenance personnel in a safe, efficient and effective manor with the desired quality and quantity of work.
