this role can be located in any or our offices across US and Canada - ie Stamford, Miami, Charlotte, Minneapolis or Toronto)Specific job responsibilities include:
The role is to effectively execute PartnerRe's Group underwriting strategy, build, develop and manage client and broker relationships and portfolio of contracts in North America in order to generate target return on capital deployed for Surety North AmericaHandle results-oriented underwriting by building-up, developing and monitoring a technically sound and profitable portfolio, this includes pricing in coordination with Pricing Actuaries and ensuring that all underwriting actions and decisions are properly documentedAcquire and maintain new profitable business in the respective business lineProvide a senior market presence and continue to build the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokersSupport and foster a culture of agility, high performance, client centricity and solution- oriented decision makingRepresent PartnerRe at market events, underwriting file reviews and workshopsEnsure compliance with underwriting guidelines and procedures.
Work in concert with other PartnerRe Financial Risk underwriters to manage global accounts for consistency of approach and outward messagingSupport portfolio management and exposure/risk accumulations according to corporate guidelines.
Interact effectively with other departments, namely:
Actuarial, Global Accounts, Claims, Reserving, Technical Accounting, Legal & Compliance and Underwriting OfficeHandle administrative tasks, including review of contractual documents and endorsement requests, data input, maintain data quality of portfolio, etc.
Analysis and monitoring of market trends, economic and legal developments and assess impacts to PartnerRe QualificationsAbout you:Proven track record and a minimum of 10 yearsreinsurance/insurance underwriting experience in North American Surety.
Primary Surety market experience is a plus.
Portfolio management and optimization experience with demonstrated ability to execute strategy in line with Surety NA risk appetiteStrong understanding of market trends, and application of such to identify improvement opportunitiesExperience working in a diverse and multicultural environmentSolid commercial, negotiation and communication skillsProven ability to deliver on defined targets and goalsUnderstanding of treaty pricing and reinsurance structuringSelf-motivated attitude with a high level of energy; Ability to be an effective lead team and develop othersProficient skills in MS Excel, Powerpoint and SalesforceAdaptable, open for new ideas and technologyWillingness to travel Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
