    Regional Sales Manager Position at The Company


    The Company is looking for a new Regional Sales Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Area Sales Representatives and overseeing activities that contribute to business growth. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in maintaining existing customer relationships and expanding the customer base in collaboration with your sales team.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, you will work closely with business development, marketing, and sales teams to identify potential prospects for the company's product offerings. Your responsibilities will include qualifying prospects based on financial viability, technical solutions, and competitive landscape, as well as developing sales budgets and achieving sales objectives within your assigned geographic area.


    Territory:

    Home office based in a specific geographic location (To be updated by the Hiring Manager).


    Essential Functions


    • Maintain a strong focus on personal safety and regulatory compliance.
    • Drive profitable growth within the territory.
    • Ensure the team is up-to-date on the Matheson Sales Model System.
    • Manage existing account relationships and profitability.
    • Oversee pricing, contract administration, and contract renewals.
    • Support collection efforts and coordinate with internal teams during project phases.
    • Provide expertise for business development and marketing strategies.
    • Submit accurate reports in a timely manner.
    • Manage travel expenses efficiently and meet training requirements.
    • Adhere to company policies across various areas.
    • Facilitate communication and support between customers and internal teams.
    • Identify cross-selling opportunities and collaborate with team members accordingly.
    • Demonstrate strong skills in value-based selling and price attainment.
    • Travel when necessary and build and maintain customer relationships through consultative approaches.
    • Promote additional product offerings during business interactions.
    • Ensure clear and consistent communication with internal departments regarding customer information and success.
    • Support customer activities, contract negotiations, and new business acquisition.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and monitor competition.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive business packages for processing.

    Requirements for All Candidates


    As assigned, perform additional duties and comply with all company policies and standards.


    Qualifications


    Education


    Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Administration or a related field from a four-year college or university.


    Work Experience


    Required: 7-10 years of professional sales experience with a proven track record of success, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience managing/supervising employees and knowledge of Dry Ice/CO2 products, B2C accounts, protein processing and packaging, and Third Party Logistic Accounts.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
    • Knowledge of industrial gas products and distribution applications.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices.
    • Training in Safety and Compliance standards.

    Licenses and Certifications


    • Driver's License (Required)
    • Hazardous Materials Training (Preferred)
    • Matheson's Supervisory Training (Upon Hiring)

    Travel Requirements


    Approximately 30-50% of weekly travel may be required for this position.
