- Note: 3+ years of relevant family law experience is preferred.
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and affidavits
- Conduct legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
- Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Prepare and manage discovery requests and responses
- Schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness files
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in family law
- Proficiency in legal administrative tasks and procedures
- Familiarity with legal case management software is preferred
- Strong research skills using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with family law forms (as well as CCP and local rules/deadlines)
