- Manages the operation and maintenance of the general ledger system, including open and close of fiscal years. Responsible for the integrity of the general ledger data and for monitoring all systems that flow data into the general ledger.
- Provides guidance to divisions and departments on accounting policies and procedures; answers inquiries on complex technical issues. Performs accounting research as needed.
- Responsible for interpreting and implementing new accounting standards issued by regulatory boards.
- Prepares and/or reviews all internal and external financial reports.
- Provides accounting oversite and reporting guidance.
- Provides accounting and reporting guidance with regards to accounting guidelines.
- Prepares necessary annual financial statements. Serves as the financial contact for all matters concerning financial statement preparation and audits.
- Coordinates year-end audit processes.
- Supervises departmental staff, establishes schedules, assigns tasks, and evaluates staff performance.
- Manages fixed asset inventory control process.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/ Business Administration or equivalent.
- Six or more years of professional accounting experience.
- Experience in financial statement preparation and employee management.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Accounting Management experience and proven track record of working effectively with all organizational levels.
- CPA designation.
- Experience working with large integrated accounting systems.
- Experience with accounting standard implementation in educational or governmental organizations.
