    Job description:

    SUMMARY:
    The Accounting Manager position is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities and operations of the accounting department and staff, including general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and treasury accounting for the company and corporate, as well as assisting in reviewing and reporting of business unit and consolidated financial results


    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Assist in the review and reporting of business unit and consolidated financial results, including the preparation and/or review of financial report analyses (MD&A) along with financial presentations for senior management and the Board of DirectorsAssist in the review and preparation of Spartan's external reporting (10-K/10-Q)Review and analyze the organization's accounting operation; establish, develop, and/or recommend accounting policies to managementPrepare and analyze financial and operational reports including reports required by regulatory agencies, banks, investors, and other external partiesManage monthly accounting close cycle, review journal entries and monthly general ledger account reconciliationsReview and analyze complex financial information and transactionsParticipate in the implementation and testing of financial systemsAnalyze, review, and manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable systemsDevelop, implement, and monitor systems for general accountingReview, update and ensure adherence to accounting and Sarbanes-Oxley controls for companyManage accounting and tax return for the companyCoordinate year-end audits for business unitsHire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop general accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable staff; manage schedules and workflowAssign duties and monitor quality of work; assure staff conforms to organizational policies, accounting controls and government regulationsProvide day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively work to promote and recognize performanceRemain up to date on overall activities of the team, identify problem areas and take corrective actionsOther tasks as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.)
    in Accounting, Finance, or equivalentCertified Public Accountant (CPA) certification requiredMinimum of eight years related experienceStrong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of manufacturing, financial reporting, and cost accountingDemonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinatesProficient on ERP systems and MS OfficeCommitment to excellence and high standardsAcute attention to detailAbility to work with all levels of managementStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsAble to manage priorities and workflowSound judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsVersatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmYou Will Enjoy:
