    BWXT is currently seeking a Data Engineer for its Advanced Technologies location in Barberton, OH

    BWXT's Advanced Technologies (AT) group researches, designs, and develops innovative new nuclear reactors, medical radioisotope production systems, and develops data science and advanced manufacturing techniques for leading-edge applications.


    The BWXT Advanced Technology (AT) Research group is seeking an R&D Data Engineer to help with a wide range of innovative nuclear products for space power and propulsion, clean energy, and radiopharmaceuticals.

    AT-Research creates new methods for microreactor design and advanced manufacturing solutions, and the power of data is making a new future possible.

    Freedom to pilot technology stacks and data architecture to facilitate dynamic R&D processes, to included HPCC for data workloads on premises and/or cloud.

    Work with design and manufacturing development engineers to deploy data acquisition and control systems for experiment campaigns, development testing, and predictive quality.

    Design infrastructure for extracting and transforming structured and unstructured data, from sensor and imagery data sources, extraction of level 0/1 data from machines operations, quality instrumentation, lasers and CT scans to data warehouses and data lakes in the cloud or on-prem.

    Automate data pipelines and analytics, for machine learning, digital twins, and data modeling.

    A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering. Python and SQL skills with database query and authoring. Mix of remote and on-site work. Travel is flexible, 10-20% domestic and international possible.
    Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

    However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

    Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
