    Job Description

    Responsibility of this position is to develop IAM data strategy involving relevant technical and non-technical aspects. Position will evaluate data projects with respect to feasibility, scalability, strategic and business value, etc. Supervise, perform, and execute feasibility studies to evaluate viability of project ideas. Initiate, manage, coordinate, and steer data projects and data-related program(s).

    Collect and structure business requirements for data pipelines, manufacturing apps, etc. and align them with data engineers and data scientists on Group Sector level.

    Utilize accessible data and stakeholder expertise to support data-driven decision making by providing analyses and visualizations and applying data storytelling techniques to provide target-group specific insights from data.

    Devise logical and physical data models as well as data architectures (in collaboration with Group Sector and IT). Devise and implement data-driven solutions using available platforms in collaboration with Group Sector and IT.

    Apply standard and sophisticated data science (including state-of-the-art data mining & machine learning) methods to create transparency/solve issues with/improve core processes in manufacturing to create tangible business benefits.

    Act as a BA IAM key user for selected standard analytics and visualization tools as well as BA IAM manufacturing.

    Position is Hybrid and shall be located in one of the ContiTech IAM locations.

    Data Science:

    Manufacturing Analytics:
    Analytics Apps

    work with stakeholders to identify data-based improvement potentials in manufacturing

    work with stakeholders to identify gaps with respect to data transparency and reporting

    devise and propose concepts/requirements for closing these gaps/resolving these issues by appropriate data-driven solutions

    devise suitable logical data models; implement complex physical data models for structured and semi-structured data

    implement advanced analytics solutions using self-service tools

    align with solution developers, data engineers and data scientists on Group Sector level

    create standardized BA dashboards/reports in visualization tools with structured and semi-structured data from different sources

    apply, modify and implement advanced analytics methods.

    integrate and process user input and visualize results using target group-specific visuals

    document implemented solutions in an accessible and understandable fashion

    Data Science:

    Manufacturing Analytics:
    Ad-hoc Analyses:

    work with stakeholders to resolve acute problems in manufacturing processes and maintenance based on data.

    prepare data for ad-hoc analyses

    explore data, apply basic and sophisticated analytics methods to solve business problems

    identify and contribute to resolving data gaps/quality issues

    guide project members through standard data mining/analytics processes

    communicate findings/insights to stake holders using target-group specific visualizations and storytelling techniques

    document findings in a structured fashion


    Training and Coaching:
    establish network and share knowledge regarding improvement opportunities, developments, available solutions, etc. in the area of data science

    coach stakeholders in utilizing manufacturing apps, applying analytics tools to manufacturing problems, and agile project management tools


    Digitization:
    integrate data- and analytics-related requirements/options when designing new production lines/updating brown-field equipment

    assess readiness of plants (infrastructure, people, processes, data landscape) for analytics solutions and data-driven projects


    Data Quality Management:
    detect and prevent quality issues in administrated manufacturing apps and during ad-hoc analyses

    devise concepts to improve and assure data quality in a generic and sustainable manner

    communicate quality issues to data owners and support data owners in resolving them


    Project Management:
    plan, execute and participate in projects primarily utilizing agile principles

    use and promote agile project management and requirements engineering tools

    report project status, goals, and results to stakeholders

    Data Strategy (BA):

    assess global/organizational scalability of analytics concepts and solutions

    evaluate and prioritize analytics business cases proposed by stakeholders in the organization

    consult decision makers regarding transformation processes including data literacy, data-driven culture, data/solution architectures, digitization, improvement of business processes, etc.

    align with group sector data strategy

    Qualifications


    Basic Qualifications:
    University degree in electrical/mechanical/manufacturing engineering, mathematics, statistics or similar.
    5 or more years of professional experience in various process engineering functions
    Comprehensive experience in rubber and plastic production processes and ramp-up projects.
    Experience in working with international teams on production topics and understanding of foreign cultures
    Proficient in English
    Flexibility to travel 10-20% annually

    This position is part of the One ContiTech reorganization. ContiTech employees will be given preference in the candidate selection.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Master's degree in electrical/mechanical/manufacturing engineering, mathematics, statistics or similar.
    7 or more years of professional experience in various process engineering functions
    Cross-functional experience e.g. in engineering, quality, production or CBS preferred

    Experience in Project Management with the ability to create a vision, define budgets, identify risks, and create realistic and executable timing plans.
