Job Summary:

A maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) Buyer is responsible for cost management of maintenance products and services through research, quotes, pricing negotiation, preparation and issuance of purchase orders for products and services that are used to maintain plant facilities & equipment.

Role and Responsibilities

Purchase and delivery of materials, parts, and supplies to support plant operations, maintenance, and general plant services
Promote efficiencies to procure to pay cycle
Secure and analyze quotations: negotiate prices and terms with suppliers; and recommend and evaluate suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness
Develop value added products/services with suppliers
Maintain alliance management programs with key suppliers
Develop and maintain mechanisms to assess supplier performance.
Supply risk mitigation
Spend analytics
Invoice resolution
Oversee contractual/consignment/vendor managed agreements
Oversee contract compliance with plant management and requestors
Engage in collaborative strategic sourcing with internal customers
Develop, implement and achieve cost saving initiatives and continuous improvement goals/projects
Knowledge of product market trends
Maintain procurement policies & procedures

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, applicable work experience
Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Oracle experience is preferred
A minimum 35 years of experience in purchasing, steel background a plus
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
