    ITD is hiring a financial technician senior to develop and maintain records, documents, reports and financial data, review financial documents and records, and provide training for the six district business area's and Headquarters document entry Staff.

    This position will also be responsible for approving and rejecting documents entered by account payable staff, perform daily outbound, quarterly distribution, personal device management, and maintain the interagency report.

    Example of Duties:

    DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    + Approving District and Headquarters accounts payable documents + Data entry of accounts payable documents + Running and completing outbound transactions + Research coding and Advantage errors + Implement standard processes + Liaison for District Financial Technicians WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES + Adding/Removing Vendors + Warrant Cancelations + Payment Corrections + Specialized payment entry into 3rdparty systems


    MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    + PCard reconciliation/approval for all PCard users + Final approval for all PCard packets + Maintaining PCard policies + Outstanding warrant report + Interagency billing report + Reconciliation report + Research, enter, and communicate about any transactions in fiscal year to correct YEARLY/MULTIPLE TIMES A YEAR RESPONSIBILITIES + Quarterly distribution of county payments + Process and reconcile device program + Outstanding Warrant Report + District/HQ payment training + New fiscal year tasks

    Minimum Qualifications:
    You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.


    Some knowledge of:
    + Accounting principles and practices - Typically gained by completion of three (3) semester credits of accounting coursework OR at least six (6) months of professional financial work experience


    Good knowledge of:
    + Financial record keeping methods
    • Typically gained by successful completion of six (6) college credits covering financial record keeping methods OR one (1) year of professional work experience where primary duties involved financial record keeping that included reconciling, balancing, and proofing financial data.
    Paying personal bills, collection money, purchasing items or maintaining a rotary fund is not qualifying at this level.


    Experience:
    + Bookkeeping
    • Typically gained by one (1) semester of high school bookkeeping or equivalent training OR approximately six (6) months of professional work experience where your primary duties involved making routine debit and credit transactions.
    + Using advanced Microsoft Excel functions
    • Typically gained by one (1) semester of high school or equivalent training regarding the use of advance Excel functions, OR approximately six (6) months professional work experience where your primary duties involved using advance Excel functions to develop worksheets, summaries and reports.
    + Using a personal computer to retrieve, edit, analyze financial data and research and compile financial info and preparing summaries and reports
    • Typically gained by successful completion of two (2) computer courses on electronic spreadsheets and/or accounting software OR one (1) year of professional experience using computer financial application software.
    This experience may be gained in a volunteer role, in an educational setting, and/or as professional work experience. Balance checkbooks, personal finances and using home financial software is not qualifying at this level.

    Desired Qualifications (not required):

    Experience:
    + Organizing, tracking, monitoring and incorporating documentation from multiple sources into a single work product + Independently applying policies, procedures or regulations in determining if financial transactions are in compliance + Use the State of Idaho LUMA accounting software, and legacy systems as needed + Troubleshooting errors in automated accounting systems + Reviewing and/or monitoring the work for accuracy + Updating/modifying financial-related desk procedure manuals + Providing excellent customer service Supplemental Information To learn more about the department, please visit the ITD website (.
