    POSITION SUMMARY:
    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to work with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to manage organization wide high priority projects. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing multiple high level, complex, cross-functional projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

    The Senior Project Manager is a full-time, hybrid, exempt, benefits-eligible role that can be based on any location Greenpeace USA is authorized to work in (CA, CT, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, MD, NC, NY, NJ, OR, TX, VA, WA). This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Lead and manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring that project objectives are met within established timelines and budget constraints:

    • Develop comprehensive project plans: Create detailed project plans that outline project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, timelines, resources, and budgets. Use project management tools such as Asana to create and maintain project schedules and timelines.
    • Define project roles and responsibilities: Clearly define roles and responsibilities for project team members, stakeholders, and external partners. Ensure that each team member understands their contributions to the project and has the necessary support and resources to fulfill their responsibilities.
    • Monitor project progress: Continuously monitor project progress against established plans and timelines. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones to assess project health and identify any deviations or risks that may impact project outcomes.
    • Manage project resources: Allocate and manage project resources effectively, including team members, budget, equipment, and materials. Optimize resource utilization to maximize project efficiency and minimize waste or overallocation.
    • Implement project management methodologies: Apply established project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid to structure and manage projects effectively. Tailor methodologies to project requirements and constraints to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Conduct regular project meetings: Schedule and facilitate regular project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status meetings, and stakeholder meetings. Use meetings to review project progress, discuss issues or challenges, and align on next steps and action plans.
    • Mitigate project risks: Identify potential project risks and develop risk management strategies to mitigate or eliminate risks. Proactively address issues and challenges that may impact project timelines, budgets, or deliverables.
    • Communicate effectively: Maintain open and transparent communication with project stakeholders, team members, and senior leadership. Provide regular updates on project status, issues, risks, and accomplishments to ensure alignment and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Develop and deliver compelling presentations: Create visually engaging and informative presentation slides using tools like Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides. Ensure that presentations are tailored to the audience and effectively communicate project status, key milestones, risks, and recommendations.
    • Incorporate data visualization: Utilize charts, graphs, and other visual elements to effectively communicate project data and metrics. Translate complex information into easy-to-understand visuals that support decision-making and drive project success.
    • Ensure consistency and branding: Maintain consistency in slide design, formatting, and branding guidelines across all project-related presentations. Use company-approved templates and style guides to create professional and cohesive slides that reflect the organization's brand identity.
    • Practice effective storytelling: Use storytelling techniques to convey project narratives and engage stakeholders. Structure presentations in a logical and compelling manner, highlighting key points and insights to drive understanding and alignment.

    Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables:

    • Foster collaboration: Encourage collaboration and teamwork among cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and coordination on project goals and objectives. Facilitate regular meetings and communications to promote information sharing and cross-team collaboration.
    • Build strong relationships: Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, team members, and external partners to foster trust, cooperation, and collaboration. Act as a bridge between different teams, departments, and functions to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
    • Manage conflicts: Proactively address conflicts and challenges that arise between teams, stakeholders, or project members. Use conflict resolution techniques to find mutually beneficial solutions and maintain positive working relationships across teams.
    • Promote knowledge sharing: Encourage knowledge sharing and best practice sharing across teams to leverage expertise and insights for project success. Facilitate learning opportunities, workshops, and training sessions to enhance team capabilities and collaboration.
    • Leverage diverse perspectives: Embrace diversity and inclusion within teams and leverage diverse perspectives to drive innovation and creativity. Encourage open communication and respect for different viewpoints to foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
    • Drive cross-functional initiatives: Lead cross-functional initiatives and projects that involve multiple teams or departments, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivering value to the organization. Collaborate with stakeholders and senior leadership to drive consensus and decision-making across teams.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
    • Master's degree is a plus
    • 10+ years of proven experience as a Project Manager, managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Experience with business process analysis and process improvement approaches
    • Excels at executive-level communication and has experience presenting to executive management.
    • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools, and the ability to apply them effectively.

    Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
    • Exceptional skills creating presentations as a way to communicate all aspects of the project
    • Track record of delivering successful cross functional major projects
    • Track record of excellent teamwork
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
    • Ability to use Asana or similar project management tool

    The pay grade for this role is a 5, and a salary within the anticipated salaryrange of $114,240 - $131,376 will be provided to the successful candidate having met the minimum requirements for the position consistent with reflecting our commitment to maintaining competitive and fair compensation practices.
