    Description

    ConMet - Canton, NC is looking for an experienced RIM/FOAM Process Engineer to provide development, support and process improvement for RIM/Foam in Place processes.

    What You Will Do:

    • Define, document, and control the overall operation of the FIP (Foam in Place) processes.
    • Troubleshoot all equipment and conditions involved in the FIP processes.
    • Define and perform daily testing processes.
    • Provide technical support and training to staff in the FIP area.
    • Perform root cause analysis of non-conforming product and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Assure that new equipment is properly and adequately trialed before it is introduced to the plant.
    • Maintain FIP equipment, including the mixing system.
    • Coordinate with Engineering on process changes that require changes to standards or work instructions.
    What You Need to Be Successful:
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Manufacturing, or similar engineering field
    • Minimum 3 years of RIM/FIP process management required
    • Experience in handling Polyurethane in foam applications required
    • Polyurethane and isocyanate handling and mixing knowledge required
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and SAP
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving (proficient user of 5-why, 8D, PFMEA, SPC, etc.) and decision-making skills.
