_ THIS POSITION HAS MANDATORY REMOTE SITE TRAINING IN MIDDLETOWN, NY FOR UP TO 4 MONTHS POST ONBOARDING. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE SELECTED CANDIDATES TO TRAIN ON 1ST OR 2ND SHIFT._

Summary:

Machine Operator 1: ability to operate a variety of production machines, primarily operating the ceramic coater, but may include but not limited to furnace, bake and detailer operations.

This position will require performing routine operations to produce blades and vanes as well as perform all quality checks. These positions require shift work and ability to work overtime when needed.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform daily standard work and perform complex operations successfully
  • Familiarity with plant tools and equipment, read and interpret process sheets, gage, deburr and clean parts, make minor offset changes (if required), frequently utilize measuring devices and assess product acceptance based on blueprint specification(s), clock labor in Solumina, perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and document results, change set ups and document information on check sheets and keep dimensional data on run charts
  • Keep equipment and work area clean (6S), adhere to standard work and all work instructions while performing tasks, maintain acceptable quality levels on routine and/or complex operations, ability to run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce product at rate in multiple cells per standard work and train other operators to perform work tasks. (Level II or III)
  • The person in this position will frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time), bend, reach push, pull and transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Exhibits consistent skill and positive attitude towards their job while demonstrating the highest degree of quality and productivity.
  • Identify and correct basic to moderately difficult operational issues, ability to correctly identify the root cause of operating problems and may be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one's skills
  • Responsibilities are not limited to the listed items above and can be changed or modified based on skill level, proficiency, and overall performance

Basic Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma / GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or Associate degree and/or Advanced Manufacturing Certification
