Job Description
We are currently seeking a
Temporary Senior Accountant
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and experience with Quickbooks. This position will primarily involve creating processes, reconciling accounts, managing cash receipts, and documenting procedures.
Location:
Downtown Colorado Springs, CO – Hybrid role
Duration:
Approximately 1 1⁄2 to 2 months
Shift:
Part-time, 20-36 hours per week.
Pay Range:
$28-31/hour
Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Assist in developing annual operating budgets.
Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations.
Oversee financial aspects of grant proposals and reporting.
Ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Forecast cash needs and manage cash flow.
Reconcile bank accounts and maintain internal controls.
Supervise accounts payable process and vendor payments.
Coordinate invoicing and collections.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and tax filings.
Support external audits and stay updated on accounting standards.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Quickbooks is required
Previous experience as a senior accountant, preferably in a non-profit organization, particularly within the LGBTQ+ sector
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Ability to quickly learn new processes and tasks
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and documentation skills
