    Under the direct supervision of the Membership Director, the Member Service Representative is responsible for top quality member service at the front desk with a complete knowledge of the YMCA mission, character counts, programs, and operations. Accuracy in all areas of monetary transactions and computer input must be insured, along with timely record keeping. Member Service Representative must interact with members in a harmonious manner.

    Job Requirements
    18 yrs+. Customer service experience preferred. The ability to work well and effectively communicate with a diverse population in a wide variety of situations is required, along with confidentiality and excellent organizational skills. Part-time.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    � Present a positive and welcoming attitude to everyone who comes to the Y for services, thereby creating good public relations and fostering the Y's role as a true community center.
    � Ensure the daily care of members is first priority; member service desk operations including scanning membership cards and greeting members.
    � Providing clear and thorough information on the Y's programs and services.
    � Assist in selling memberships and programs by proactively engaging in conversations regarding the benefits of the YMCA memberships and programs.
    � Accurately process program registrations including cash transactions and maintenance of member records.
    � Respond to inquires both in person and by phone to ensure that members have a positive experience when enrolling for Y programs.
    � Offering assistance whenever possible to address members' needs, solve problems or transmit important information to the appropriate staff person.
    � Actively participate in the Annual Support Campaign by helping to raise dollars towards the Y's goal.
    � Respond to emergency situations by adhering to the safety policies and procedures set for the Organization.

    Skills and Abilities
    � Friendly disposition and knowledge of excellent customer service practices.
    � Must be able to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills and effective conflict resolution skills.
    � Must be accurate in cash handling and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
    � Must exercise good judgment in decision making.
