- Works under general supervision to assist production teams to establish statistical process control monitors of our fabrication, metrology, and quality processes.
- Candidate will be mainly responsible for assisting IFT's Quality Manager by gathering data and developing & automating statistical process control charts in support of our daily manufacturing operations. Work will range from backend database to frontend dashboard development. Much of the work will revolve around FileMaker Pro database queries in conjunction with JMP statistical process control software.
- May be called upon to support staff in other areas related to inertial fusion technology and target fabrication as required.
- Participates in the day-to-day activities of the assigned functional areas assisting in the completion of advanced tasks and problem-solving.
- Communicates and presents on results of assigned projects.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- Requires enrollment as an Engineering/Computer Science undergraduate at a recognized college or university.
- Candidate must have a good work ethic and a strong desire to be part of the solution.
- Experience in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering principles is preferable.
- Knowledge of SPC including development and use of process control charts.
- Computer/Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Ability to learn and use various technologies such as JMP, FileMaker Pro, Python, and AWS
- Strong communication skills necessary to write and record precise information as well as ability to interface with staff in a professional environment.
