    Identity and Access Management Administrator


    The Identity and Access Management Administrator holds accountability for assessing, designing, and overseeing the daily functionality of the Corporate IT IAM landscape.

    Operating in a hands-on capacity, this position serves as both a server and identity administrator, assessing intricate system needs and subsequently crafting, executing, and managing identity access and authentication protocols throughout the ecosystem.

    The candidate will need to come on site their Herndon, VA office once a week.

    What You Will Be Doing:
    Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems such as Microsoft Entrust, Okta, and Active Directory.

    Proficient in coding with PowerShell and experienced in automating tasks.

    Develop, implement, and document various processes for the IAM Environment, including:

    Problem troubleshooting and helpdesk response.

    Utilization, availability, and growth patterns (capacity planning)

    24/7 support, escalation, and SLA models

    IMAC (Installation, Move, Add, Change) services for systems and applications.

    Create and maintain server/application diagrams and workflows.

    Coordinate incident diagnosis, corrective action, and root cause analysis.

    Supervise the configuration, testing, installation, modification, and servicing of all server components and applications within the IAM landscape.

    Independently prioritize work requests based on departmental priorities and system criticality.

    Manage vendor relationships necessary for evaluating, installing, modifying, upgrading, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on IAM Infrastructure components.


    Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and consultant to other Infrastructure groups, including Cloud Operations, Cyber Security, and Systems Administration.


    Plan, lead, and execute comprehensive systems analysis and design activities, including developing detailed functional requirements for new server infrastructure solutions.

    Participate in rotational on-call support and escalations when necessary.


    Required Skills & Experience:


    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or equivalent experience in Information Security, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

    A minimum of 7 years of experience in Information Technology.

    At least 4 years of experience with servers and applications in a fast-paced environment.

    Proficiency in PowerShell commands, scripting/automation, and customization of Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes and tasks.

    Experience with JSON/Python and other coding languages.


    Functional knowledge or experience with Identity Management technologies, including (but not limited to): Microsoft Entrust, Azure Active Directory Connect (Entra Connect), ADFS services, LDAP Services, and JAMF.


    Experience in integrating Okta IdP, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entrust), as well as Okta Workflow design and implementation.

    Experience with API integrations of third-party Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.

    Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (Entra) and Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) conditional access, configuration, application, and management profiles.

    Familiarity with Active Directory Group Policy.


    Understanding of industry standards and best practices in Identity and Access Management (IAM), such as SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth, LDAP, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Fido2, and YubiKey.

    Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) with experience in Microsoft Certificate Services.

    Experience in RSA SecurID Administration for both Cloud and On-Premises environments.

    Working knowledge of TCP/IP and related networking protocols.


    Desired Skills & Experience:
    Extensive expertise in Azure encompassing compute, network, cost/usage analysis, and resource management.

    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Windows administration, including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, file services, IIS, and SQL.

    Exceptional scripting skills in PowerShell, Perl, Python, and PowerCLI.


    Possession of professional industry certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ900), Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ104), Azure Certified Solutions Architect (AZ303/304), or Okta certifications.

    Familiarity with Linux distributions including SUSE, RedHat, or CentOS.

    Experience in integrating SEIM tools, backups, and monitoring tools.

    Understanding of Best Practices and security guidelines such as NIST rev 4.
