    Position Summary

    UHN Data & Analytics supports UHNs growing demand for data, data-driven insights and helps TeamUHN ensure the needs of the patients come first.

    Our collective goal is to better see, understand and use data to help UHN become a data-driven organization, which will help us achieve UHNs strategic goals and ultimately advance care, research, and education.

    UHN Data & Analytics supports UHN in data-driven decisions, data literacy, performance improvement, data governance, data infrastructure/tools, advanced analytics, and automation.

    The Performance Improvement & Excellence (PIE) team works under the direction of the Director and the Chief Data & Analytics Officer to foster a data-driven culture and learning health system.

    Working closely with clinical and administrative stakeholders, the PIE team helps identify complex issues and implement innovative solutions to improve quality, operational efficiency, and patient safety across various clinical programs.

    With expertise in data analytics and relationship management.

    The Analytics Specialist is responsible for developing insights through analytics and ensuring cross-functional alignment across operations, data reporting, and planning.

    Ultimately helping drive innovative initiatives, informing corporate priorities, and evaluating program outcomes.
    Duties
    Prepare and present data as a meaningful story for stakeholders in a visually appealing manner.
    Assist in developing and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to clinical, quality, and operational metrics.
    Collaborate with different departments to gather, manipulate, interpret, and analyze data for monitoring and optimizing organizational performance.
    Communicate complex technical information in written reports for diverse audiences.
    Assist in interpreting results and preparing materials for presentations.
    Engage relevant clinical, business and leadership teams to understand problems and current state and identify opportunities for improvement.
    Document data analysis processes, methodologies, and findings for reference and knowledge sharing.
    Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Computer Science, Business or related field.

    Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a healthcare environment supporting analytics, dashboards, business processes, simulation, and reporting or equivalent.

    Experience designing and developing dashboards, visualizations, routine and ad-hoc reports from multiple datasets.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to systematically analyze situations, identify issues and patterns, then draw logical conclusions.

    Well-formed organizational, time management, communication, and decision-making skills.
    Knowledge of trends, strategic frameworks, and advances in data and analytics capabilities, considered an asset.
