POSITION SUMMARYThe Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for assuring efficient data collection, thorough analysis of all quality and regulatory metrics, and conducting performance improvement projects for the neurosciences service line.
The Stroke Performance Improvement Coordinator will assist the Neurosciences Program Manager with data collection including completion of the State and Joint Commission Stroke Registry and daily stroke log.
The Stroke Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for modifying and implementing appropriate data collection tools and maintaining current and comprehensive knowledge of data collection, root cause analysis, and initiating various performance improvement initiatives for the neurosciences service line.
The Stroke Performance Improvement Coordinator completes regular quarterly data reports and as needed for Neurosciences Service Line Administration.The Stroke Performance Improvement Coordinator coordinates activities between both divisions to assure timely abstracting and analysis of records within the required reporting and accuracy rate parameters along with the Neurosciences Program Manager.
This position also monitors external and internal databases involving reportable data and assures timely data collection, detailed analysis, and reporting to develop performance improvement initiatives.
The Stroke Performance Improvement Coordinator will also assist the Neurosciences Program Manager with various nursing clinical functions including patient outreach and the nurse navigator role.
This position does require interdivisional travel on a regular basis.This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required. BLSHCP required. ACLS required within 90 days from date of hire or transfer.
EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years of experience in the field of neurosciences, neuro critical care, and/or comprehensive stroke care is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Clinical Applications is highly preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. This position requires lifting up to 20 pounds frequently. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPThis position reports directly to the Director of the Neurosciences Program.
