- Participate in creating and maintaining a youth-friendly, welcoming Wellbeing Center space and conducting a variety of outreach activities to introduce students to the WBC.
- Provide individual and group education and consultation to students, maintaining student confidentiality and utilizing a Positive Youth Development approach in all interactions with students.
- Provide individual coaching, guidance, and mentorship to youth on health-related issues and navigation of service systems.
- Conduct outreach activities on school campus, including lunchtime tabling and other school wellness events.
- Assist Youth Educator Supervisor in maintaining strong relationships with school site staff and facilitating the integration of the WBC into the school community.
- Interact with school personnel, including administrators and teachers, and with community leaders around program implementation and program-related health concerns.
- Maintain relationships with community providers who can support student well-being beyond the capacity of the WBC and establish a relationship with those providers to offer easy access to those services for WBC students; make connections and referrals as needed, to improve student health and social outcomes.
- Implement a comprehensive health curriculum with fidelity to the curriculum and the practices outlined in training; conduct classroom presentations and workshop sessions on priority public health topics.
- Develop and sustain a student-led peer advocate program including training the advocates and supporting them in facilitating wellness activities and resource distribution to be conducted on campus by students for students.
- Ensure that outreach and education materials are available at Student Wellbeing Center; maintain and update local resource and referral lists.
- Assist with collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on delivered services.
- A Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- A valid California Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job related essential functions.
- Experience working in a community organization providing services to adolescents.
- Experience leading group programs/activities with adolescents.
- Experience working in educational programs or related programs serving adolescents.
- Bilingual abilities; Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Please note that the summary of responsibilities and required abilities identified below are not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.The Wellbeing Centers (WBC) provide youth-focused mental health, substance use prevention, and sexual health education and services to high school students. Wellbeing Centers are located on high school campuses across Los Angeles County and offer a safe space where students can learn how to take care of their health from adolescence through adulthood.Youth Educators will be assigned to support designated Wellbeing Centers within a geographic region. They are responsible for the planning and implementation of specialized prevention programs related to youth-relevant topics such as substance use, safe sex practices, personal and sexual relationships, and emotional, physical and mental well-being. Youth Educators must have an objective understanding of at-risk youth problems, youth health and development, and familiarity with relevant service programs.
