    Description

    Our client is in search of an Environmental Services Supervisor for a 3+ month contract position in Oak Park, IL. This role requires on-site presence from Monday to Friday, with a need for the mid-shift schedule of 3pm-11:30pm CST.

    As the Environmental Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a designated area within the department, ensuring impeccable cleanliness and aesthetics for patients, visitors, and staff. Your duties will encompass upholding regulatory standards, managing departmental finances, and collaborating with fellow managers to ensure smooth daily operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate environmental services operations efficiently by organizing daily tasks and conducting shift briefings.
    • Manage the Epic patient discharge system.
    • Assign tasks to Technicians and Floor Care Technicians, ensuring completion and documenting through quality assurance checks.
    • Set an example of service excellence for all stakeholders.
    • Conduct inspections to maintain infection control standards among Technicians.
    • Hold regular employee meetings and training sessions on relevant topics, keeping accurate training records.
    • Perform performance evaluations and offer guidance for improvement.
    • Participate in the hiring process and collaborate with Infection Control to enforce disinfection protocols.
    • Stay informed on COVID, Bed Bugs, Regulated Medical Waste policies, and other regulations.
    • Handle payroll, scheduling, and audits related to waste management and equipment maintenance.
    • Represent environmental services on hospital committees and assist with budget management.
    • Assist in onboarding new employees and provide training on necessary computer applications.
    • Ensure employees receive required education and maintain consistent departmental communication.
    • Prepare managerial reports and conduct follow-up activities such as patient care rounds and safety surveys.
    • Maintain employee files and records of assignments, quality control issues, and infection control outcomes.
    • Track employee attendance, FMLA, and Work Comp cases.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • 3 years of work experience, with at least 1 year in EVS leadership within a healthcare setting.
    • Familiarity with regulatory policies, including those related to COVID and medical waste.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Strong customer service skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
