- As a safety subject matter expert, promotes safety as a business value vs. business priority, through training, focusing, and informing others about company safety practices and procedures.
- Research, review, prepare, speak to, and update safety programs, procedures, and policies to provide continued compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, e.g. Haz Comm, Risk Assessments, audits, training, etc.
- Participate in leading a proactive safety culture by identifying and recommending solutions to safety-related issues by establishing new preventative measures, and engineering controls. Supporting our powered industrial truck platforms (iWarehouse and Infolink), near-miss reporting, and Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSOs).
- Provides a level of communication as a leader that motivates Safety Coordinators team members, and ODW Logistics as a company, to continue to exceed expectations under internal or external evaluation as it pertains to facilitating a compliant, safe, and healthful work environment.
- Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters, training programs, Safety Team meetings, weekly Safety Calls, goal attainment and individual development
- Understands potential exposures to OSHA (federal and state programs) EPA, NFPA, NIOSH, ESG, and ANSI regulations on each site and aids in implementing and managing those aspects proactively or upon investigation. Monitors, communicates and enacts regulatory changes as they occur.
- Support the Director of Safety & Security by maintaining the incident log, and monitoring lost-time injuries, and Worker's Compensation Claims while partnering with Human Resources and Risk. Participate in injury/incident investigations to determine compliant dispositions. Understand and assist in completing OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301).
- Bachelors or Associates Degree (Preferred), or equivalent education and verifiable experience preferred.
- Warehouse and material handling equipment experience, including, but not limited to, stand-up/sit-down forklift, order picker/reach truck, clamp, pallet jack, etc.
- Experience with the Raymond iWarehouse and Crown lnfolink platforms is a plus.
- Safety management experience in logistics or a warehouse setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with NFPA (30 A&B), OSHA 1910, ANSI, and NIOSH is a plus
- Hazardous material (flammable liquids and aerosol) experience a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
- Ability to create and analyze data, including assessing risks in the workplace.
- Strict attention to detail and observation skills are a must.
- Experience, and or expertise, in the Microsoft Suite programs is preferred
