The Vice President of IT Infrastructure directs and maintains a comprehensive network, telephony, server, storage, and infrastructure strategy for the Information Services Division at the Airport Authority.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

    • Implements long and short-range goals for the Information Services Division.
    • Manages special projects and Information Technology studies.
    • Maintains collaboration and integration for networks, telephony, systems, security, and operational functions.
    • Maintains a close working partnership with IT business and security functions to ensure end to end IT compatibility and synergy, along with seamless integrations.
    • Plans, develops, and implements a comprehensive Hardware System Portfolio and lifecycle management program.
    • Plans, develops, and implements a comprehensive network, telephony, server, and infrastructure integration.
    • Ensures a quality customer service focus for employees in IS.
    • Responsible for network, telephony, server, security, and storage infrastructure up time to agree upon service levels.
    • Monitors direction and growth of business to ensure application of appropriate technology support resources.
    • Manages the acquisition and installation of all infrastructure technology components.
    • Prepares and manages divisional operating, capital, and project budgets.
    • Supervises the activities of assigned IS Directors and other support staff.
    • Prepares and applies performance evaluations on assigned staff.
    • Mentors and advises employees in department on technical issues and approaches, as well as career development.
    • Directs technical support to a wide variety of users related to IS.
    • Manages the input, analysis, and recommendations to determine the hardware, software and automated systems configurations needed by the Authority.
    • Works with all Authority business units to implement appropriate technologies in campus-wide projects.
    • Directs the creation and implementation of related IT policies and procedures.
    • Directs the development and updating of a comprehensive disaster recovery plan to ensure continuity of operations related to infrastructure.
    • Directs and coordinates budgetary input to the Sr. Vice President/Chief Information Officer.
    • Directs the development and design of enhanced tenant service offerings.
    • Provides reports, business analysis and recommendations, as required by the Authority, on any aspects of the IS Division.
    • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflows.
    • Coordinates and performs special projects as requested.
    • Directs the preparation of contracts and bid specifications; meets with vendors and contractors for information technology related procurements.
    • Maintains industry knowledge of new technologies and industry trends to continually improve systems, parking revenue control systems, security systems and other IT systems.
    • Monitors the performance of managers, supervisors, contractors and IS staff.
    • Prepares and/or reviews employee performance evaluations and provides recommendations on merit awards, performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.
    • Analyzes and documents existing business and information systems environment and future direction.
    • Identifies information system infrastructure enhancements that will improve business processes and support current and future business needs.
    • Liaisons with other Authority business units to clarify information technology requirements, program objectives, analyze current operational procedures, identify challenges, and suggests/validate potential solutions.
    • Participates in the review of detailed technical designs.
    • Ensures adherence to the IS change management process and serves as a member of the IS Change Control Board.
    • Ensures Authority systems are adequately secured and backed-up to ensure business continuity is maintained.
    • Provides vision and strategies related to infrastructure solutions that enhances and supports the end user experience while improving the effectiveness and efficiency of Authority personnel.
    • Performs additional work as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, public administration or a closely related field OR equivalent related work experience.

    Preferred:

    • Master of Science degree preferred.

    Experience:

    Required:

    • 8 years of high-level working experience in a complex information technology environment.

    Preferred:

    • 5 years of supervisory/management experience; and airport or other high volume 24/7/365 operating environment experience preferred.

    Licenses or Certifications:

    Required:

    • Valid NC Driver's License

    COMPENSATION

    Salary

    • Maximum: To commensurate with experience
    • Minimum: $160,932.29
