    The Senior Strategic Marketing Manager II – Competitive Intelligence will be responsible for creating and executing the competitive intelligence process, analyzing and interpreting market and competitive trends to inform business decisions, and contributing to the development of best practices market and competitive market mapping.

    This person must have the ability to go beyond analysis and synthesize key insights and their impact on the Leica business in a clear and concise manner. They need to be creative and collaborative in developing new models to capture and distribute competitive intelligence on strategy, products, solutions, while integrating these learnings into actionable recommendations. A sizable portion of the assignment will be spent on driving market modelling linked to the annual strategy process as well as helping regional team close competitive white space. Other key responsibilities require driving change and leading teams to think beyond traditional models and try different approaches that will drive competitive wins and growth.

    This role is highly dependent on the individual's ability to work collaboratively with the Business Units, Sales Units and leverage internal colleagues and external resources. This requires a highly agile, dynamic and inspiring leader that influences through conviction and data and is a true champion of moving the organization forward.

    The Senior Strategic Marketing Manager for Leica Biosystems is responsible for owing and driving the market and competitive analysis in the yearly strategic planning process with relevant analyses, presentations, and strategies, as needed.

    This position is part of the Leica Biosystems Strategic Marketing Team located in Deer Park, Illinois and will be a fully remote position. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Define and drive comprehensive view of market and competitive dynamics (both qualitative and quantitative) globally at a regional level.
    • Periodically review insights with external sources (conferences, annual reports, analysts' calls).
    • Own the competitive and market commentary for the monthly & quarterly President Newsletters.
    • Develop a framework to gather & distribute competitive intelligence on products, solutions and strategy. Drive the creation of competitive playbooks in coordination with BU and SU.
    • Develop market modelling based on competitive positioning scenarios.
    • Create and maintain a repository of Competitive Insights.
    • Responsible for executing on request from the L1 SIR committee.
    • Manage and coordinate the deliverables of the LBS strategy including ad hoc creation of market models, market research, analysis of market segments and competitive positions.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

    • M.B.A or other field relevant advanced degree
    • 10+ years relevant experience working in business related field.
    • Ability to leverage data creatively and visually.
    • Successful leadership experience in a matrix environment.
    • Ability to lead and influence across multiple functions.
    • Extraordinary quantitative and interpretative skills.
    • Proven ability to drive and champion change through new processes, models.
    • Travel is less than 20%

    The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
