- Call on targeted prospective clients and quantify and qualify opportunities to drive investments to secure growth and business relationships
- Develop an area business plan to create a territory action plan designed to grow our core business and once the plan is developed, execute this plan with focus and determination
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to identify customer needs, assess current and future customer growth and provide tracking and reporting for the territory
- Create, maintain, and execute a customer-focused business development plan for all high-potential customers
- Offer strategic problem-solving solutions, creating mutually beneficial opportunities
- Able to identify needs and use a consultive sales approach to built rapport and trust
- Maintain prospective client list, update with the status of planned activities and communications logged into CRM
- Serve as the local key account expert, sharing expertise with the assigned Professional Service Team and Client Service Representative
- Utilize excellent presentation skills to conduct educational training on products and exhibits
- Build relationships and influence with key collaborators, including veterinarians, breed associations, extension, and university personnel
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a scientific or business discipline preferred
- General knowledge of the dairy industry is required
- Ability to travel extensively required (>60%) within the territory
- Minimum of three (3) years of related sales or consulting experience is desired in the bovine industry; this could include animal health, nutrition, genetics, or other similar bovine industries
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and proficiency with a computer including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word required.

Trans Ova Genetics is currently sourcing for a Business Development Manager for the Southwest region (west of I35 in Texas, Oklahoma, SW Kansas with some overlap into Colorado and New Mexico). Our ideal candidate will reside between Garden City, KS and Lubbock, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will demonstrate a hunter mentality with the ability and willingness to cold call. They will excel and demonstrate a track record of communication, teamwork, execution, and planned growth. A positive attitude is a must, with a consistent embodiment of optimism and energy for the industry, teammates, and clients. Candidates that can demonstrate that they excel as team players and work hard to help others when asked will have an advantage.

Successful candidates will have some experience in the commercial dairy industry. This candidate will also be able to sell or possess the desire to learn to sell an enterprise model for ART to dairies in the defined territory.
