    Job Description

    Job title: Director of Design Research

    Location: West Coast preferred, primarily remote with some travel to LA (10%)

    Compensation: $200,000-$250,000

    Why this role exists

    The Director of Design Research is a strategic collaborator to Mahway's Partners. You will take Partner's strategic vision and validate the assumptions and marketability of Mahway's potential ventures. Your strategic mindset will be pivotal in minimizing risks and propelling Mahway to unparalleled heights.

    Mahway is a venture builder with the aim of building dozens of high-growth, unicorn-potential businesses over the next decade. We pair experienced founders and operators with proven growth playbooks to solve some of our world's most important problems.

    Required

    • 5+ years of experience as a researcher, analyst, and/or strategist at management consulting firms, think tanks, or investment analysis firms
    • Experience and/or familiarity with facilitating human-centered creative problem-solving (either at an agency or in-house team)
    • Client services and account management experience across multiple clients

    Outcomes

    • You will design and implement several methodologies for executing efficient and accurate validation projects
    • You will build and manage a team of researchers and analysts

    • You are adept at crafting the best research approach and tactics for each validation project.
    • Diverse research methods, including desk research and customer interviews
    • You are a sophisticated communicator who can ingest information, synthesize and then package it so it's easily understandable

    In the first 90-days

    • You will carry out X-Y idea validation projects in the first quarter
    • You will manage and deploy a budget per idea validation project

    In the first 12 months

    • You will be responsible for managing the research process and team
    • You will build and operationalize an efficient process for research and validation
    • You will build a research team to sustain an efficient research pipeline to assist in the efficient validation of ideas
