The Siemer lab ) at USC is looking for a postdoc with a background in NMR spectroscopy and knowledge of protein biochemical techniques. We study intrinsic protein disorder in the context amyloid fibrils using solid-state NMR, EPR, and MD simulations.Current projects:
We work on the fibrils formed by huntingtin and α-synuclein important in neurodegenerative diseases and specific chaperones that interact with these fibrils.
Environment:
The Siemer lab is part of the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute a modern research facility located at the health science campus of USC, close to downtown Los Angeles.
USC is a very collaborative environment and we have long running collaborations with labs at USC as well as labs in North America and Europe.
Serves as a research trainee for the purpose of enhancing and developing research competencies. Participates in planning, designing and conducting highly technical and complex research projects under the direction of a supervisor. May or may not work independently. Analyzes research data and provides interpretations. Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication and/or prepares technical reports, papers and/or records. (Fixed-term; one year and renewable on the recommendation of the faculty mentor and at the discretion of the dean. May be renewed up to a maximum of five years.)More jobs from USC
