What will I be doing in this role?
The Associate Director, Digital Design is responsible for the ideation and implementation of design with regard to digital strategy and execution in order to drive growth, expansion, and innovation of digital capabilities and customer experience at Cedars-Sinai.
This role creates strategies that communicate and embed human-centered design into digital innovation and related operational changes to support the process and tactics to implement that vision.
Overall, the Digital Design Director will foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the organization and will play a critical role in shaping the organization's user experience and visual identity across all digital touchpoints.
Duties include:
- Develops, leads, and maintains Human Centered Design and strategic innovation standards and best practices across all consumer digital platforms, ensuring a consistent digital experience.
- Leads and advises overall creative direction across all digital touchpoints to ensure a cohesive digital brand identity and user experience across all products and platforms by developing and maintaining digital design standards and guidelines.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to scope, design, concept test, and deliver innovative solutions that support consumerfacing digital products and services for Cedars-Sinai, with a focus on user experience as a means of acquiring and retaining healthcare consumers.
- Leads and manages the Consumer Digital Design team to ensure the successful delivery of highquality design solutions aligned with business goals.
- Leads the development and implementation of design research and user research strategies, both quantitative and qualitative, that inform and guide product design decisions, based on user needs and business objectives.
- Communicates design strategy, progress, and outcomes to key partners across the organization, including senior leadership, to ensure alignment and support for product design initiatives.
- Works closely with senior leadership and product managers to define product strategy and roadmaps as well as defining immediate, nearterm, and longterm strategies for the digital product ecosystem.
- Mentors and develops team members to build a strong and effective design organization, and promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Manages design budgets and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective project delivery.
- Fosters a culture of experimentation and innovation within the organization, encouraging ideation and exploration of new product concepts and features.
- Builds and maintains relationships with external partners and vendors to deliver on design projects and initiatives.
Maintains a mastery of visual design and UX trends relevant to the Cedars-Sinai brand and the lives of our patients and professionals.
Designs with a strong aesthetic and attention to detail grounded in the fundamentals of design, creating work that is strikingly beautiful and effortlessly useful.
Executes across the full spectrum of digital projects between marketing and products; possesses drive to identify new creative opportunities within existing projects.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in humancomputer interaction, experience design, service design, industrial design, graphic design, data science, cognitive science, psychology, or a related major is required. Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a User Experience Research role, User Experience role, Strategic Design role, or relevant professional and leadership experience is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience with design, design strategy or innovation management, design thinking & execution with a deep understanding of frontend innovation practices is required.
