    Position Summary

    We are offering a full-time paid Data Analyst internship during summer 2024. Ideally 8 weeks with flexible start and end dates. This individual will be responsible for deriving insights from data and conveying conclusions to business stakeholders to drive strategy and decision-making.

    Strong preference for candidates who are interested in being hired for a full-time role after the internship.

    Qualifications

    • Recently graduated from UNDERGRAD or graduating in the spring of 2024 with a degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages such as R, SQL, Python, or similar
    • Comfort with Google Sheets or Excel skills, particularly related to using VLookup and creating nested functions
    • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with a desire to learn
    • Very detail-oriented and thoughtful when executing a task or initiative
    • Adept at figuring out how things work, or how to get things done when a solution isn't obvious or involves multiple steps or tools
    • Business acumen and interest in using data to solve business problems
    • Ability to convey results of analyses and describe data visualizations to stakeholders who are less familiar with technical presentations of information
    • Added advantages:
    • Experience with data warehousing tools, such as Google BigQuery
    • Experience with ETL tools like Fivetran
    • Experience with data visualization tools, ideally Looker
    • Experience with data collection and site analytics tools, such as Heap

    Responsibilities

    • This role will collaborate with other business functions, such as Product, Operations, Site Analytics, and Marketing, to provide data-driven insights
    • Analyze data, interpret findings, and present actionable insights, solutions, or recommendations
    • Understand and maintain relationships between data sources and structures, as well as translate business requirements into necessary fields or metrics
    • Design and develop Looker dashboards and reports to visualize complex user data and trends
    • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and key insights that can inform strategic decisions
    • Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner
    • Export data and create reports as necessary to support business functions, including new sales channels and production planning
    • Meet with internal stakeholders across various departments (Operations, Marketing, Finance, etc) to turn business requirements/questions into business insights and BI/reporting solutions
    • Find the root causes behind variances of key parameters and resolve issues for data systems by performing deep-dives using various analytical techniques
    • Monitor initiatives while effectively communicating business value through the creation of reporting, data sources, and ad-hoc analysis
