Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an International Trade Compliance Analyst (Level 2) / Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst (Level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

The position can be located in Rolling Meadows, IL.

  • Manages comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with US and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain, and other business activities.
  • Establishes business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the US government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations.
  • Establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies.
  • Establishes operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews for technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits, and export and import shipments.
  • Maintains applicable trade compliance records by regulatory requirements.
  • Supports the law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints. Establishes and maintains training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.

Specific Tasks will include:


  • Plans, schedules, and routes imports and exports, including monitoring the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, ensuring related customer service, brokerage, and customs transaction compliance.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products.
  • Assists on trade compliance counsel assessments and prepares and/or reviews documentation as needed with management.
  • Maintains postaudit assessments (PO/Sales Order to Payment) as it relates to import and export activity, to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal compliance controls.
  • Researches and resolves customer or supplier issues. Interfaces with internal and external worldwide import/export operations and organizations.
  • Works with internal programs, outside vendors, and suppliers to improve compliance efficiencies, and prepare correct documentation by the internal requirements, terms & conditions, and government regulations while reducing potential inbound and outbound transportation delays.
  • Research transportation methods, rates, and routes, and reconciles domestic and international freight bills.
  • Develop programs to audit and monitor carrier rates, and charges, and evaluate past performance and cost of transportation.
  • Performs various reporting and accounting functions within the Transportation/Shipping department.

To be considered for this position, you must mínimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Basic Qualifications International Trade Compliance Analyst:

  • 3 Years experience with Bachelors; 1 Year with Masters.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Demonstrate a track record of paying close attention to detail.
  • SAP experience.
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret Security Clearance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

BasicQualifications Principal International Trade Compliance Analyst**:

  • 6 Years experience with Bachelors; 4 Year with Masters.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Demonstrate a track record of paying close attention to detail.
  • SAP experience.
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret Security Clearance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
