As it approaches its 100th Anniversary, it has begun a new growth and development stage through its new updated online directory as well as a printed catalogue that has been in circulation since 1924 across the USA and Canada.

    Job Description: Surplus Record is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Advertising Analyst (intern) to help deliver high-quality machinery and industrial equipment listings and data clean-up for our website and printed magazine. This role involves ensuring the listings of machinery and equipment are unified within a given category, often starting from incomplete data such as just a photo. The team is expected to add or clean up to new records added each day, utilizing online searches to understand and categorize machines accurately. Extensive training will be provided to familiarize you with the machinery and manufacturing of industrial equipment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review and clean data submitted by machinery dealers to ensure accurate and categorized listings.
    • Utilize online searches and AI tools to enhance database quality.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop new categories and SEO terms for existing and new equipment categories based on trending searches.
    • Manage and monitor automation processes for adding equipment to the database, ensuring correct formatting, and accurate photos and descriptions.
    • Work independently and creatively to build continuous improvement of marketing operations with the Advertising team.
    • Using Excel for mass imports and changes utilizing excel formulas to mass clean data.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Technical Writing, Marketing, Advertising, Business, or related fields.
    • 1+ years of experience in operations, data analysis, or marketing preferred.
    • Proficiency with Excel (ie: Vlookup) and CRM systems.
    • Knowledge of industrial, manufacturing, or equipment auctions is a plus.
    • Eagerness to learn and grow with one of the most well-known and established industrial marketing & advertising firms in the world.
