Summary
Maranatha Christian Academy is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN.
We are an influential school of collaborators, innovators, and explorers, grounded in Christian faith, empowering co-creators of tomorrow.
This part-time (8 to 10 hours per week) volunteer coordinator works to support the Advancement Department and Events of the academy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Teaching
Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; models a consistent, daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and actions.
Follow Matthew 18 principles when dealing with students, parents, staff, volunteers, and administration.Serve on planning committees to determine event volunteer needs.
Develops, promotes, and maintains a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization
Meet regularly with the event director.
Collect and provide the event director with the names of volunteers for events.
Coordinate with the event director and assign volunteers to tasks or stations for events.
Recruit and provide training, if needed, to volunteers for events
As needed, communicate needs and information to event workers, volunteers, and onsite staff.
Be at the event to serve where needed and be available to determine appropriate responses to problems and emergencies.
Review and observe the work activities of volunteers to evaluate effectiveness.
Organize and participate in volunteer recognition and appreciation programs.
Maintains volunteer database and provides timely activity reports on volunteer participation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises the event volunteers for Maranatha Christian Academy and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include training volunteers; planning, assigning, directing, and evaluating work; addressing questions and complaints and resolving problems.Competencies

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
