    Description
    Systems Support Engineer - Senior Level

    Clearance: Must possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)

    Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid model)
    Travel: Up to 30% local to DC metro area

    As a Finch AI IT Systems Support Engineer - Senior, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of information interaction. We value expertise in supporting a diverse range of internal and external systems - from Windows and Linux to Docker and AWS. A standout candidate will have a track record of collaborating seamlessly with development teams, adeptly resolving issues, and maintaining the integrity of our internal systems and customer installs. Join our dedicated IT team, where you'll bolster development, test, QA, and production landscapes. Proficiency in Windows, and Linux is essential, as is the ability to efficiently accomplish tasks and communicate effectively.

    Responsibilities:
    • Network Oversight: Diagnose and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/wireless connectivity issues, ensuring stable access and usability.
    • Systems Administration: Monitor and fine-tune systems for optimal performance, analyzing data for capacity planning and trend insights.
    • Inventory Control: Handle inventory, maintenance, and disposition of hardware and software.
    • Security & Compliance: Engage in disaster recovery efforts, manage endpoint patching, and maintain a secure and compliant operational environment.
    • Project Collaboration: Work alongside the IT team on larger projects and operational needs, ensuring smooth communication and problem resolution.
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, identify opportunities to enhance service quality, and deepen relationships with internal users.
    • Automation: Proactively automate routine tasks using Python, Bash, and other approved methods to boost efficiency.
    • Miscellaneous Duties: Take on any other assigned tasks or special projects to support the IT department's objectives.
    • Up to 20% travel to international customer sites for product installation/support
    Technical Requirements:
    • 5 years of demonstrated technical experience.
    • Windows Operating Systems: Proficiency in both Windows workstation/server OS (5+ years)
    • Linux: (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL) (2+ years)
    • Network Infrastructure: Established knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network routing
    • Programming Abilities: Familiarity with Python and Bash
    • Container Administration: Working understanding of Docker containers, Kubernetes
    • Industry Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of industry best practices and advanced technical concepts.
    • Communication: MUST have soft skills to interact well with internal customers and collaborate with stakeholders ranging from clients and peers to management and vendors.
    • Task Management: Capability to handle multiple concurrent responsibilities and oversee prolonged IT projects with minimal supervision.
    Preferred:
    • Professional Certifications: MCSE, MCITP a plus
    • AWS Certifications a plus
    • Experience with Helms Chart, Kubernetes, and Elastic Search
    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
