- Coordinates all aspects of event management;
- Works with various departments to implement events targeting Giving Communities and the United Way;
- Researches, identifies event opportunities, and negotiates with a diverse group of external vendors to procure goods and services for events;
- Manages program budget development, compliance with financial and program reporting;
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key funders and partners.
- Participates in Legacy grant Girls in Sports programming (two annual events) to ensure integration with the year round programming expansion;
- Develops new partnerships and strengthens existing collaborative relationships with universities, schools, community and faith-based organizations;
- Recruits and directs volunteers as needed;
- Ensures compliance with current regulations that provide for the safety and security of individuals participating in program activities;
- Compiles program statistics & pre & post surveys for key events
- Attends mandatory organizational, departmental and committee meetings
- Supports the organization's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts;
- Visibly demonstrates UW values of service, integrity, collaboration, accountability, equity & agility;
- Performs general office duties such as typing, filing, data entry, opening mail, etc;
- Engages in job-related travel to designated trainings, meetings and events;
- Maintains established departmental policies, procedures and objectives;
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, hospitality management, or a related field, with three years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Experience with athletics, fitness, youth sports, youth development and/or after school programming preferred.
- Experience with program design, development, implementation and retention.
- Experience with collaboration of schools, universities, community agencies, parks and recreation, and faith based organizations.
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
- Project management, organization and time management skills.
- Good listening skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel; proficiency in G Suite apps including Docs and Sheets.
