    Security Analyst I - Reston, United States - Bowman

    Description
    Purpose

    Assist in the development, design, and analysis of Bowman's information security system. Utilize security technologies to monitor, audit, and support the security of company networks across 80+ sites in North America.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership and Direction

    Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes. Receive direction on all aspects of assignments, specific tasks and how to execute. Work is thoroughly reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles.

    At the Operational and Company Level

    Assist in evaluation of security plans to ensure the integrity of new and/or existing business operations.

    Serve as a Security Technologies Analyst within the Information Security Team, contributing to security initiatives, projects, and daily operations.

    Evaluate, analyze, update, monitor, and secure the company's infrastructure.

    Do the Work

    Aid to Integrate security designs to ensure that proprietary information (data and systems) is safeguarded.

    Assist conducting assessments identifying vulnerabilities within the organization's systems and networks.

    Review security patch recommendations report.

    Assist in the implementation and configuration of security technologies.

    Review and analyze alerts generated by security tools.

    Support maintaining system compliance against security frameworks to include the Center for Internet Security (CIS) and NIST practices.

    Conduct routine audits of GRC controls and submit supporting evidence.

    Contribute to security related documentation such as polices, standards and procedures.

    Support incident responses.

    Analyze and conduct network risk assessment.

    Assist in the investigation of security breaches to determine system weaknesses.

    Participate in testing and configuration procedures across products and systems.

    Analyze security management systems, enterprise systems, and data files to validate security.

    Participate in security analysis across networks, databases, and internet/web operations.

    Assist in the translation and design of security requirements.

    Provide management with risk assessment briefings on products and/or services when necessary.

    Education, Work Experience, Licensure/Certifications, and Technical Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred.

    Minimum of two (2) years IT experience, with one (1) year of security or networking experience.

    Security certification or advanced network certification. Examples include CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate(CCNA)

    Experience assessing systems against security controls frameworks and best practices.

    Knowledge of and skill in working on enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, VMs, and virtual networks.

    Knowledge of AD, O365, Azure AD and next-generation firewall platforms.

    Knowledge of current best practices in network and information security.

    High degree of organization.

    Physical Demands and Working Environment

    Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.

    Mobility around an office environment.

    Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.

    Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.

    Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
