    Chronicle Books is looking for a Senior Manager, Educational & Library Marketing, to drive the marketing strategy for all Chronicle Books titles and brands (adult and children's) in the institutional channel.

    The person in this role will also serve as the subject matter expert for this market and they will collaborate with title marketers on campaigns, advising on initiatives to increase awareness, profile, and profitability in the ed/library market.


    Our preference is that this job will be based in San Francisco, and we can offer relocation assistance. We will also consider qualified candidates in the NYC area who can travel to our Manhattan office.

    The Senior Manager will oversee Chronicle Books' presence at all major national school and library conferences, manage award submissions, create E-newsletter strategy and content, and develop social media campaigns and sweeps directed specifically to teachers and librarians.

    They will also manage seasonal advertising strategies, work with the School & Library Sales Manager to pinpoint opportunities, explore additional channels and partnerships for our titles, and work with Publicity on author speaking opportunities.

    Employees at Chronicle Books follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 3 days per week and up to 4 days per week in our San Francisco office, depending on project and business needs.

    Hiring Salary Range:
    $78,000 - $89,700. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to: the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.

    Requirements


    Qualified candidates must have prior experience in the Educator/Library space and have strong librarian relationships with a minimum of 6 years' work experience, including time at a book publisher in the Ed/Library space.

    Strong library contacts, knowledge of awards and submission guidelines, effective communication skills and strong presentation abilities are required.

    The person in this role must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with people at all organizational levels.

    They will need to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and be able to travel to conferences. Management experience preferred.
