    The Post Award Analyst uses advanced contracts and grants concepts to manage high volume and high complexity transactions.

    Reviews and guides others in the review of financial and administrative management requirements of research contract and grant proposals, awards, and / or transactions to ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor policies.

    Works independently to assess complex grant, contract and subcontract transactions where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. May review and sign transactions for less experienced staff.

    This position provides budget detail, analysis and recommendations to the CAO to inform strategic decisions on new and existing programs.

    This requires monthly monitoring of a variety of funding streams and payroll distributions for Faculty, Non-Faculty Academics and Staff in the department and regularly entering funding information in UCPath for payroll changes.

    Responsibilities include oversight of monthly Budget Status Report (BSR) reports, payroll distributions, financial status reports and subcontract invoicing.

    In addition to the financial oversight of Principal Investigator (PI) portfolios, this position also provides financial oversight for the American Course on Drug Development and Regulatory Sciences (ACDRS) Program, the Bioengineering Graduate Program, the Clinical Pharmacology Training Program (CPT), the Master of Translational Medicine degree program (MTM), and the Pharmacokinetics for Pharmaceutical Scientists (PK Course).

    This includes approval of Deposit and Credit Card Journals including recharge and cost transfer, financial journals, and payroll expense transfers regularly.

    For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

    Its faculty perform high-quality basic, translational and clinical research in the fields of drug development, Pharmacogemonics, Therapeutic Engineering and Computational biology.

    It educates PharmDs, MDs, Masters in Translational Medicine and PhDs in bioengineering and therapeutic sciences.

    BTS maintains a core administrative unit led by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and supported by finance and administrative units.

    Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
    Ability to perform highly complex financial analysis and customized reporting.

    Demonstrated advanced competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.

    Ability to interpret policy for others.
    Advanced knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques.

    Advanced knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.

    Maintains knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply sponsor, institutional and departmental policies. Experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, and cooperative agreements.

    Full knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Code of Federal Regulations, sponsor-specific policies, intellectual property policy, conflict of interest requirements, publication rights, application of indirect cost rates and other complex concepts in research administration.
