Summary of Position:

Responsible for inspecting designated guest rooms and public areas of the Hotel ensuring that all the areas are clean and well maintained in accordance to established standards.


Primary Functions:


  • To serve as a Gansevoort Hotel Group Brand Ambassador and maintain integrity of brand standards and goals.
  • To uphold and comply with Coyle Standards and Gansevoort Core Values at all times.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of rooms and public areas daily to ensure that standards are maintained.
  • Ensure that all vacant dirty rooms meet the required standards before updating room status.

Specific Accountabilities:


  • Monitor, verify, and report the status and/or discrepancies of rooms and enter into Property Management System and KnowCross.
  • Coordinate work orders with the Engineering Department and follow up until completion.
  • Participate in daily Housekeeping Department preshift meetings.
  • Comply with house opening procedure.
  • Coordinate issuance of supplies and equipment to Housekeeping staff in the beginning of each shift.
  • Respond to special guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Assist Director of Housekeeping and Housekeeping Manager with monthly inventory.
  • Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquires to maintain controls and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Perform cleaning duties during emergencies.
  • Inspect and restock contents of private bar in every room. Ensure that charges are posted accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all inroom accessories and promotional materials are in place.
  • Maintain an adequate stock of products on the mini bar card and replenish the cart at the end of the day.
  • Maintain the storeroom in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Ensure that expired products are remove from rooms on time.
  • Ensure that amenities are delivered in a timely manner with the correct presentation.
  • Perform Office Coordinator duties when needed: place, receive and route a high volume of calls, supply information to callers, relay messages and announce visitors. Deliver messages promptly and accurately to all parties. Answer the phone within 3 rings with appropriate greeting; log all calls and dispatch them in timely manner to all departments using Knowcross, follow up to ensure calls are picked up; login/out team members in Knowcross, monitor "parked calls" to ensure that parked reasons are read and passed on to appropriate Team Member.
  • Input information from a variety of sources into spreadsheets.
  • Assist Director and Housekeeping Manager as required.
  • Perform any other job duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Qualifications:


  • High School diploma (an associate diploma preferred).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft office and excel.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Initiative.

Physical Requirements:


  • Physical mobility and stamina required.
  • Able to lift objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to be standing/mobile for at least 8 hours per day.
  • Fast paced movements are required.
  • Must be able to seize, grasp turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly to communicate with guests and employees.

Pay:
$26.69 per hour
