Summary of Position:
Guest Attendant acts as an ambassador for the Hotel.

Guest Attendant handles the guest arrival and departure procedures, directing guests to their rooms, handling and storing their luggage in proper places, assisting them in valet parking, etc.

Their purpose is to greet guests upon arrival and departure, assisting them in all their needs in a courteous, timely and professional manner.


Primary Functions:


  • To serve as a Gansevoort Hotel Group Brand Ambassador and maintain integrity of brand standards and goals.
  • To uphold and comply with Coyle Standards and Gansevoort Core Values at all times.
  • Establish and maintain standards of a 5 star service.
  • Welcome the guests and patrons upon arriving, assisting them with luggage, directing them to their rooms, and assist them with transportation arrangements. Provide information to the guests and patrons regarding Hotel facilities and directions.

Specific Accountabilities:


  • Welcome guests in a proper manner following Coyle standards.
  • Be present at the door/in the lobby at all times, never leaving Hotel entrance unattended. Check with manager / supervisor before leaving work area for any reason.
  • Inform guests and patrons about Hotel facilities, functions, services and hours of operations, as well as give directions in the area.
  • Deliver guest luggage to guest rooms or make arrangements for storing luggage in bell closet. Store and tag luggage accurately. Never leave luggage unattended.
  • Escort guests to their rooms and show room amenities, offering room tour and Hotel outlet information.
  • Facilitate switching of guestrooms and use room move log.
  • Deliver guests' packages, faxes, extra keys, amenities, and newspapers.
  • Offer help to guests in obtaining a taxi, calling it whenever requested.
  • Offer assistance with Valet Parking-Log ticket #, name, room number, or passerby.
  • Park guest vehicles in specified areas in a prompt, safe and efficient manner.
  • Provide general information & communication to valet attendants in order to ensure efficient valet operations.
  • Ticket/Register all incoming vehicles in our Parking Log. Record necessary information on Valet Ticket
  • Inspect vehicles and accurately mark preexisting damage on valet tickets.
  • Safely return vehicles to guests.
  • Handle minor guests' complaints. Timely inform management on all guests' complaints to minimize escalation.
  • Ensure that Hotel lobby and entrance are safe and clean/free of debris, reporting to Housekeeping any need for servicing those areas.
  • Subtly solicit Tripadvisor reviews for the positive experience with Gansevoort from the guests.
  • Attend department meetings as scheduled.
  • Be active participant and support your team in achieving the hotel goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Management.

Required Skills/Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Customer Service Skills and good

Communication Skills:

you will need to listen to guests needs, provide superb service and communicate in a friendly manner to all requests.


  • Good listening skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to function in a noisy, hectic and crowed environment.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to handle guests' complaints.
  • Neat and clean appearance.
  • Stamina: you will spend the majority of time on your feet and will have to lift heavy objects.
  • General knowledge of the Meatpacking neighborhood and New York City.
  • Flexible to work schedules to include morning/evenings/night, as well as weekends and holidays.
  • Being a team player and ability to successfully pass on information from one team member to another.
  • Must hold current driver license.
  • Must be able to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Must maintain impeccable driving record.

Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to be standing/mobile/stationary for at least 7 hours a day, 35 hours a week.
  • Periodically fast paced strides are required to go from one part of property to other.
  • Must regularly lift/carry/move 60 pounds of force.
  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required.

Pay:
$16.00 per hour
