  • Assistant/Associate General Counsel – Healthcare
  • The system is anchored by Maimonides Medical Center, one of the nation's largest independent teaching hospitals and home to centers of excellence in numerous specialties; Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital (formerly New York Community Hospital), a 130-bed adult medical-surgical hospital; and Maimonides Children's Hospital, Brooklyn's only children's hospital and only pediatric trauma center.
  • Maimonides is an affiliate of Northwell Health and a major clinical training site for SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.
  • Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, the Assistant/Associate General Counsel will provide legal advice and counsel to MMC's executive leaders and other senior executives, managers, directors, and administrators.
  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Currently licensed as an attorney in New York State or eligible to become either a member of the New York Bar or New York Registered In-House Counsel.
  • Excellent academic record and experience at a respected law firm and/or in-house.
  • Demonstrated understanding of federal and New York health care regulatory issues, including but not limited to, fraud and abuse, reimbursement, informed consent, physician practice, and HIPAA/privacy issues.
