    OPPORTUNITY
    The Senior Project Buyer supports the needs of multiple diagnostic product development projects. This role ensures that all procurement needs are met and that excellent sources are established for all direct materials.

    This role is critical in negotiating competitive costs and securing the supply of materials and services to ensure a successful product launch.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Deliver excellent service levels to the project team and leadership
    Negotiate with suppliers to meet product COGS targets
    Monitor vendor deliveries and expedite accordingly. Update requesters on status
    Generate and maintain accurate purchase orders in the purchasing system
    Drive supplier selection processes (RFI/RFQ/RFP, audits, profiles)
    Prepare supplier records for quality compliance
    Actively participate in sourcing projects to identify best-fit suppliers for project needs
    Forecast needs of materials and services
    Manage supply chain risks. Identify potential issues and drive actions to address them
    Define processes and standard practices of this new Purchasing function within the project teams
    Resolve receipts and payables issues via effective collaboration with A/P and Receiving
    Support non-project Purchasing activities and process development
    Other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelors degree or 10 years of experience in purchasing roles
    Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing roles supporting product development
    Minimum of 1 year of experience in a company with a quality management system certified at 13485 or higher standard
    Minimum of 5 years of experience managing suppliers, including price negotiations and tracking delivery performance

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    2+ years of experience in purchasing roles supporting a highly-regulated product development environment (i.e. diagnostics, therapeutics, medical device)
    Extensive experience in purchasing roles supporting product development in high-tech or preferably life sciences companies
    Experience closely collaborating with project engineers and scientists toward common project goals (i.e. timeline, cost target, readiness for launch)
    Experience in managing costed Bills of Material (BOMs) in collaboration with the project team
    Strong organizational skills, including tools to carefully track actions and deliverables from yourself and project suppliers
    Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
    Ability to drive projects with little guidance or direction
