Valerie Campbell

Super creative and results driven designer who loves building amazing dream teams from the ground up, leading to some of the most impactful trends in fashion, art and design. From designing full collections, to creative directing campaigns and organizing all channels involved in the creative roll out process, I thrive in fast paced, quick turn around environments and know how to encourage and motivate teammates to push through intense settings and deadlines sans drama. I love teaching, mentoring and learning and have over 15+ years experience in the fashion and entertainment industry. 

2011-current: 12+ years creative directing and designing for Freak City LA. I am responsible for designing and directing all fashion collections, social media and editorial campaign concepts, fashion illustrations, graphic designs, mock ups, Cads, sample making, styling, e-commerce, managing budgets for marketing assets, oversee collaborations and brand projects and organizing production pipeline and product launches. Launched sold out collection with Billie Eilish, successfully created sold out merchandise for Paramore and Gorillaz, retail concept shop featured in the Museum of Contemporary Art, created a designer incubator program with a Gen Z fashion brand and most recently, created outfits for Doja Cat’s Scarlett Tour. 
 

2010-2012: Costume design and wardrobe for Nicki Minaj. 
Responsibilities included custom costume concepts and wardrobe for the femme fatale tour with Britney Spears and assistant styling and tailoring for campaigns with Viva Glam, GMA, MTV VMA and red carpet appearances. 
 

2007-2010: Operations & production management for Manoush. Responsibilities included overseas production coordination, organizing shipping and inspections and maintaining communication and relationships with vendors, buyers and showrooms.  Apparel management software & general accounting.
