    Description


    Under policy direction of the Board of Supervisors, plans,organizes, manages, directs, and supervises the activities,programs, and services of the Department of Social Servicesincluding public assistance, employment services, Area Agency onAging, adult protective services, in-home support services, childprotective services, Lake County Housing Commission, and the LakeCounty Public Guardian, Conservator, and Administrator; isresponsible for fiscal management, personnel management, programplanning, program evaluation, and public and political relations;represents department activities, programs, and services withcommunity organizations and other government agencies; serves asCommissioner for the Lake County First Five Coalition; performsthe lead role in the County for shelter and local assistancecenter coordination in the event of disaster; and performsrelated duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

    Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree froman accredited four-year college or university with a major insocial work, human services, psychology, sociology, businessadministration, public administration or a closely related field.

    AND Five (5) years of full-time professional experience workingin public, or private agency human services program, includingtwo (2) years in a management capacity.

    Possession of a Master'sdegree in public or business administration, social services,human services, psychology, sociology, or a closely related fieldis preferred.


    Licensing and Certifications:
    Possession of, orability to obtain, an appropriate valid California Driver'sLicense.
