Job Summary:


The Director of Employment Services oversees the Brotherhood Crusade's Proud to Me initiative implementation which is a uniquely innovative trauma-informed, human centered, Whole Person Care model that provides extensive wraparound support to Priority Population Young Adults and Opportunity Youth in order to prepare them well for and ultimately facilitate their transition into sustained middle-wage employment.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This role will be responsible for providing managerial oversight to Job Developers and Job Placement Liaison(s) and providing leadership for the organizations program initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the operational unit of Employment Services to include Job Developers, charged with obtaining and effecting employment services for opportunity youth.
  • Attend any meetings, workshops, trainings, and events pertinent to Employment Services
  • Managing and developing orientation policies and procedures to include timely transactions relating to the effectiveness of onboarding for youth and employers.
  • Coordinating and ensuring performance evaluations are provided to staff at predetermined intervals
  • Administer and submit pre, mid, and postassessments, assimilate, review, correct data and, as appropriate; present data results to key stakeholders and senior management
  • Ensure your team is advocating for the youth and ensure their receipt of culturally
- and age-appropriate trauma
- informed youth development services for themselves and their families. Work with staff to ensure youth and their family have access to necessary services and resources from Brotherhood Crusade and its collaborative partners (employers)

  • Work in partnership with YouthSource Center Program Team, to support all facets of youth employment services
  • Ensure that employers are recruited, retained and educated regarding the youth that we serve
  • Ensure that partner employment sites are being serviced and communicated with on a regular basis to allow for success for our youth in their employ
  • Support the Brotherhood Crusade Proud to be Me Initiative and curriculum
  • Be a steward and make sure external collaborations with individuals and businesses have impactful opportunities for youth ready for employment.
  • Be accountable for significant job development and participant recruitment targets
  • Attend all supervisory and all staff meetings
  • Conduct research, compile data, such as maintaining records, managing data systems and providing information to external and senior management
  • Create and submit monthly reports that track overall program progress and results to the Senior Director of Workforce Programs.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and multitasking skills
  • A minimum of three years work experience in managing, supervising, and cultivating activities based on the needs of young adults and opportunity youth
  • Leadership skills, including conflict resolution, problem solving, decision making and delegation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to convey and participate in teamoriented work
  • Strong project management skills, including managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Cultural competency through familiarity in working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Outcome driven with the ability to respond to changing circumstances
  • Computer literate, including strong background with all Microsoft Office software packages; Google Drive, local area networks and efficient use of the internet
  • Thorough knowledge of the wide career opportunities available in the job market
  • Skilled in maintaining databases

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field
  • Minimum of three years of youth development experience working with lowincome, highly urbanized youth and young adults in marginalized communities
  • Passion and commitment to the betterment of all individuals, especially low income and atrisk individuals
  • Must have a valid and current driver license, clean driving record and own personal transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, projectors, scanners, copiers, facsimile machines, calculators, etc.
  • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree
  • Interpersonal Communication: Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information. Includes giving instructions, assignments or directions to subordinates or assistants
  • Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instru
