Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is hiring for a
Stores Specialist who will plan, organize, and maintain the operations of a storage facility.

Stores Specialists order, receive, and inspect a variety of supplies and materials; review and verify accuracy of shipping documents; enter/process invoices for stock; contact vendors and departments to coordinate the ordering and delivery of parts and items; fill requisitions; operate material handling equipment; perform periodic inventory; and maintain inventory systems.

This recruitment is for ARMC's
Nutrition Department

Duties include:


  • Ordering
    perishable food items such as produce, proteins, dairy, and dry goods in compliance with necessary
    PAR (Periodic Automatic Replacement)
    levels, diets, and recipes.
  • Placing orders in their proper storage areas and rotating items as per the FIFO Method (First-In, First-Out).
  • Checking in all goods coming into the department; completing inventory; signing invoices.
  • Ensuring items are date compliant.
  • Ensuring storeroom areas are cleaned and organized.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER


Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles),
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission.

The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center.

Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services.

ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Physical Ability:
This position requires occasional moving and lifting of heavy objects, either manually or with the aid of lifting devices.

Incumbents must be physically able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, stand, bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, and stoop.

Based upon assignment, employees may be required to work outside continuously and are exposed to electricity, chemicals, heat, oil, odors, dust, gas, and noise.


Travel:

Travel throughout the County may be required.

A valid California Class C driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.

Pre-Employment Process:
Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation and verification of employment history and education.


Minimum Requirements:


Experience:

Two (2) years of full-time experience in
purchasing, and in a combination of areas that include rotating, receiving, storing, issuing or inventorying
perishable food items in a
_warehouse or storage__ facility._**
Note:_ _**_Department store or general storefront inventory is not equivalent experience_.

Desired Qualifications:

Lead or supervisory experience is highly desirable._** Additionally, applicants possessing computer experience and implementation of an automated system are highly encouraged to apply.
